Hi!
I'm thinking about getting a new refrigerator..and am considering
a French Door...
(2 upper 'side-by-side' doors- lower freezer)

Does anyone have?
What you do think of it? And, the Brand?

We got a french door Kitchenaid and just love it, best refrig. either of us has ever had. It is kind of noisy, though, kind of a whine, especially when the weather is warm; they say that's normal though for this model.

My refrigerator doesn't have an ice maker, so my only recommendation would be to get a refrigerator with an ice maker and possibly a cold water faucet on the outside of the door.

One of these days I'm going to install an ice maker, but it's going to be a pain in the butt because the refrigerator is on the opposite wall from the sink. I'll need to run a water line through the floor.

I've had all three. over the years. If you use the frig part more than the freezer, get the freezer on the bottom.
Less bending and searching.

I will soon be sending my side by side to the recycler, it's over 10 years old, does run OK but I can't stand the vibration and humming. Have tried adjusting the doors in a myriad of ways, without success. The ice chute flap is broken, no suitable after-market parts available.
My next fridge will have the top freezer. Preferred brands: Whirlpool or LG.

My next fridge will likely be: This fridge

We have a fridge with French doors and a bottom freezer. Well, my husband has it now. Anyway it is the best fridge I've ever had. It holds a lot of food, even large pizza boxes.

The freezer has a top basket that slides out, and has a divider. Underneath, the cargo area is deep and has a divider. It also has a long, narrow basket on the freezer door.

When we remodel the kitchen we will be getting a french door as we want water and ice. We will need to run a water line. I have never had one so I am going to be comparing and checking really good. Google the best french door fridge for ratings to see what comes up. I like the Samsung.

Hi Jace:
I bought a new frig about 2 years ago and I love it. It is a Bosch, guess they call it a french door (2 doors up & freezer below). I bought a Bosch because I loved my Bosch dishwasher so well - best I've ever had (and I've had two now). Good luck.

P.S. Jace - I meant I've had two Bosch brand dishwashers so far. I've had many others not so nice. Also, the Bosch frig I have has a water dispenser inside the doors - much better than outside in my opinion, and icemaker in freezer - very nice.

Good Choice! Our old fridge started making noise, and barely cooling, a couple of years ago....so we went to Home Depot and chose the 21 cu.ft. version of this brand. We lucked out and got it on sale for about $800, and HD delivered it about 2 days later. They reversed the doors to open to the left and took the old one with them, and were all done in about an hour.

Where home appliances are concerned, I'm a Firm Believer in "simpler is better". The more bells and whistles a fridge, stove, etc., have, the more likely that they will have problems.
