Neighbor is looking for homes for cats she's taken in

She must have 6 or 7, but with all their milling around, it was difficult to count. Most are yellow tabbies, one looked like a tortoise shall and one was a yellow & white mix. They seemed friendly enough. She said she took in her daughter's cats when her daughter had to move and couldn't take them. She's looking for a forever home for them (hint, hint).

Oh. Guess you made your decision and I'm sure it's best for you.
Yes, that's true. I think I'd like to have another cat again, then I think of
1) the vet bills,
2) trying to procure cat food in these shortage times,
3) having to get up early to feed it,
4) worrying it would get outside (in my old house, I had enough doors and walls so I could get out without letting them get out, but here every door directly leads outside),
5) cleaning a litter box.
Also my new house is relatively pet odor free.

#1 I can understand.
#3 makes absolutely no sense to me. Who gets up early to feed their cat? Mine are on MY schedule, not theirs.

The rest, okay by me. I want you to be happy. If you're better off without a pet, that's for you alone to decide.

Our cat would walk around the house meowing as loud as she possibly could until someone fed her. We’d leave dry kibble out for her but she wanted her wet food. She clearly became a spoiled cat and refused to resort to being anything but. Cats are definitely easier to look after than dogs but when they get older, they can be a real handful.

6 or 7? I hope they are all fixed. She can keep them. And keep them indoors.

We do have help with spay and neuter in this area but not every areas does.
