Neil Sedaka dies aged 86

From our era, we lost Catherine O'Hara and Robert Duvall. They say it comes in threes, so the final shoe has dropped.

RIP to a very talented man who helped shape my teenage years. I had Laughter in the Rain on my cassette recorder. Such a great song!
seadoug, you look a little bit like him. Both handsome!

If anything, it worked in his favour. His voice sold over 40 million albums.
It also worked quite well for Frankie Valli, Lou Christie, Michael Jackson, Prince, Barry Gibb, Dell Shannon, and a host of others.
A voice is merely an instrument, and it's amazing what can happen when one knows how to use it.
Not only did Sedaka know how to showcase his voice, but he was also a very talented songwriter who wrote and co-wrote around 500 songs. He was definitely gifted in the field of music.

I liked his songs as a teenager. I thought Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen was my song when I turned 16. I read he was rushed to the hospital Friday and released and then shortly after, I read he had died.

I hope his memory will last for generations with his songs.

"Russia is part of both Europe and Asia, with the Ural Mountains serving as the traditional boundary between the two continents. Approximately 75% of its territory is in Asia, while about 75% of its population lives in the European part."

I've been listening to his music all of my life. My sister bought his record (45 rpm) Run Sampson Run. Although he wouldn't make my list of my top ten favorite singers and bands, never the less, I always seemed to love singing along to his songs. They were just fun to sing along to like, Calendar Girl, Run Sampson Run, Next Door To An Angel, Breaking Up Is Hard To Do.

R.I.P. Neil. Thank you for all of the great music that was fun to sing along to. You made growing up more enjoyable.
