New 2 You

Hello, my name is Frank. I live alone. No pets, but thinking of getting fish or a hamster or something. I have bugs. Isopods (roly-polies), maybe 40 or 50, I'm nor sure, but they're not very playful and not as interesting as I thought they'd be. Can't remember why I thought that, but anyway, they live in a plastic container with a blue lid that's currently sitting on a chest of drawers in my kitchen. They like to eat fish food. That's why I was thinking I might get some fish. Two birds, one stone kind of a deal.

Anyway, hello. My name is Frank.

Hi Frank... from a sunny London

Welcome.

My kids had a dwarf hamster when they were early teens and she was delightful. I can recommend one of those. Although they usually live 1 to 2 years she almost made it to 3.

Hello Frank from PA. Bugs huh? Never heard of that.
When it was deemed unsafe to go out I started watching a lot of random youtube videos and found some guy who makes these ecospheres; takes a jar and scoops up gunk from the bottom of a pond, adds pond water, seals the jar and takes it home. When the dust settles, literally, he's have these water-world ecosystems full of tiny crustaceans, worms, snails, all sorts. Those led me to a guy who makes terrariums for bugs, mainly isopods.

I thought my younger grandkids would dig it, but they were like, Meh. We got those in our yard. Then my isopods had babies. Months later, they're still living with me.

Hi, Frank. I didn't know what an Isopod was, so I looked it up. Sorta looks like something you'd want to kill, rather than keep as a pet. 😊

"Sorta looks like something you'd want to kill " Especially when they're also known as Wood Lice. But mine are aka roly-poly and they're a lot cuter than the one in your picture. That one looks a lot like a flea.

Hello, from soon-to-be "white" northern Colorado. Wife and I absolutely love it here (that's why we left Florida a returned here).
