New bed

I've been sleeping on a twin bed with a chihuahua for a few years now. My chuhuahua lays on her side with her legs stretched and I end up sleeping all cramped up on the edge of the bed. I'm usually up and down the entire night & sleeping sometimes sitting up on the couch. Yesterday my daughter brought me a new Queen bed in her truck and brought it into my house and put it in my bedroom with new sheets and comforter. I could not believe the difference that bed made. I was soooooooooo comfortable. It is the first time I slept the entire night through without waking up in years. I can't wait to go back to bed tonight :)
 

You're daughter's so thoughtful! I have a king sized bed that I share with my husband, dog and sometimes cat too. It feels like a twin at times, because the furkids like mama's side best. :) Sleep well tonight, pleasant dreams! :sleep:
 
Thank you both for the compliment on my daughter. Yes, I've been very fortunate in the fact that I have some really great kids that are very thoughtful and generous towards me. It sounds like it's going to rain tonight , so I get to sleep comfy on a rainy night..one of my favorite things.
 
Enjoy BW...really:D Me and hubby had the same mattress for a hundred years. Finally one day he said we should go out for a new one. The sales guy knew his stuff. The old mattress and hubby would get up to go pee and I would bounce a good four feet in the air. The new one...well it's older now...but what a difference.


Denser I guess? But let's see...hubby is still bigger than me plus two dogs equal to maybe 130lbs and the odd cat or two...perfectly comfortable together.

Yes, I know what you mean. This bed feels better on my back too. I don't know what the difference is, but it is just heavenly to lie on & the other one wasn't. My daughter is a better bed picker than I am . Fur you have lots of company. I used to have two chocolate labs that were outside dogs. One day the guy working on my house did not close the door good and suddenly they barged in my room at full force and laid all over me licking my face and I couldn't get up LOL. Their combined weight was just too much & I was stuck until I finally squiggled out. :D
 
We have a queen size bed. Gets crowded if dog tries to get into bed with wife and I. Dog has learned not to even try anymore. But, our small bedroom just doesn't have room for a king size. So... wife and I sleep on queen size at home. I spend lots of nights in motels... hopefully to end soon as I retire. I always have king size... by myself... in hotels. Backwards of what it should be.

Glad the OP got a good bed where she can get some healthy sleep. Still think properly... and uninterrupted... sleep if a key to good health. (To bad an ol' man's bladder doesn't cooperate.)
 
What a thoughtful daughter, BW! :) A comfy mattress makes a huge difference! We have a 'continental size' mattress (Ikea) and it's between a queen and king size. Got a memory foam mattress and few years ago and love it.

What is that memory foam made of? I hear they cost a lot but so many love them.

We ordered ours on Amazon without even checking one out. It came rolled up! It had a strange smell for the first few weeks and it was too hot. But you can buy a topper for it to stop that. Check them out on Amazon to find out how they are made. We love it. And as I recall it was cheaper than other mattresses.

What a great gift from your daughter. I like to think of a bigger bed as an investment in sleep real estate. Good sleep is a life changer, so I hope you enjoy the difference as time goes by. Sweet dreams!
 
What a great gift. We need a new one also but I have been putting it off. There are so many to choose from. For some reason I feel funny trying them out in the store. I feel like everyone is watching me. I wouldn't be able to get comfortable on any of them. Just a quirk of mine.
