New bridge in China collapses after a landslide

The CCP prefers their builds get a win for looking impressive than for being sound.
Clearly, they don't understand it's possible to achieve both.

This could be the Tofu-dreg I've been reading about and watching on youtube. Things built so poorly they just fall apart.
What's really going on is; the Chinese gov't gives a construction company, let's say, a trillion ¥ to build a bridge. By the time four layers of city officials, CEOs of the construction company, and key members of the local police force pocket their cut, there's like 12¥ left to build that bridge.

The workers will use trash to build it. They will literally go to the local dump to collect cans, bottles, chunks of wood...whatever they can stuff into the mortar, between walls, in the foundation, etc. to get the thing built. And with a lifetime of experience, they are very skilled at making it appear solid.
