New Game Show...The Floor. Anybody Watch?

I'm not into game shows, so haven't watched one in decades (except for the shorts of Family Feud that pop up on Facebook from time to time). But I was trying to figure out the concept of this when I saw the promo and it intrigued me, so I watched the first show. It's a fast paced trivia game and the multitude of contestants are subject to be eliminated in a couple of minutes once they are up. That Rob Lowe hosts doesn't hurt. I'll finish the first show but doubt I'll keep watching...or I might. :unsure:

This really looks stupid. I expect it to flop. I saw a brief preview of the game play.
It's more flash over substance.

It reminds me of that game show hosted by the Full House guy years ago Was it called 1 vs 100?

It felt like a spastic take on Jeopardy, but I haven't watched games shows for a long time.

My time filler is the MST3K/RiffTrax channel on Pluto TV. And I've barely turned that on in a month. But I've had other things on my mind.

The only game show I ever watch is Jeopardy. I've been watching it since the 60's, when I was on summer vacation in school. The show originally debuted on television when I was 14, in 1964. About 59 years ago!!
I never liked Jeopardy, though Alex Trebek was certainly easy on the eyes. The way the questions are asked really annoys me for some reason. It didn't help that an ex boyfriend, who I found out was a real creep, used to like the show. :LOL:

@dilettante I can't stand those movies where there's sarcastic commentary. There's a [something] 2000 that does that. It gets on my nerves. Just let me watch the danged movie! Also those are likely to be on channels that have a lot of commercials. I'm practically allergic to those now. :ROFLMAO:

It was renewed for a second season. I only watched the first episode though. It did not interest me enough to continue watching. @dilettante I couldn't stand Jeopardy. Not even the handsome Alex Trebeck was enough for me to watch.
@Jace

MST3K, RiffTrax, and a couple of shorter-run series were all done by the same core team of comedians for most of their run.

As a result, they've gained quite the cult following. They even do live shows now where people dress up and bring their hand made puppets, etc. I think one of their endorphin-squeezers is when a newer show makes a subtle or not-so-subtle reference to a bit from an earlier show, where earlier can be as much as 30 years earlier. The audience loves that stuff.

The movies are chosen for being so bad that nobody would watch them otherwise anyway. I mean, "Miami Connection," "The Guy From Harlem," "Manos: The Hands Of Fate," "Rocky Jones - Space Ranger," "The Crawling Eye" - does anybody really want to watch those crusty bits of sub-B cinema again?

But yeah, it's an acquired taste.

I remember I saw The Crawling Eye. Back then I watched whatever horror movies I had access to but probably wouldn't watch it again. :LOL: I also wouldn't be one of the "cult followers" of those live shows.
