Actually found this forum doing a search for polymyalgia rheumatica :). I'm 61 but feel like 91 lol. Still trying to work full time for medical benefits. Hubby is 70 and been retired for a few years. I've been the bread winner for some time now and struggling with chronic pain for the past 3 years. Not trying to bring anyone down, just a little info as to why I'm here :). We have 2 senior cats and a Corgi who's a year and a half old, still a puppy lol.

Just looking for friendship, conversation and enlightenment to the senior years. Hope to make new friends and learn a lot here! Thanks for having me.

Hi Shedevil, welcome to the forum from a dog and cat lover!

Welcome Shedevil. So sorry for all your physical issues. Hope you find relief. I'm originally from Michigan so in your neighbourhood.

I also have PMR along with osteoarthritis and neuralgia, so I feel your pain. We suffer with this 24/7 and like any other chronic pain or illness, no one knows how we suffer, unless they also have it. WELCOME to the forum, by the way.

so glad you found the forum, I think you'll enjoy it a lot. I'm sorry for all you are going through with the pain. Lots' of folks here to relate to though, it can be comforting. Denise PS oops, that photo wasn't supposed to come out that big, LOL!! Oh well, welcome anywho;)

So, SD, what do you do for your pain? Any homeopathic remedies or something from a doctor? I've tried about everything under the sun, as they say. All kinds of meds from the rheumatologist and this and that from other sources. I am at my wit's end with this. Some days are better than others. When the barometric pressure goes down, my pain goes up. Mornings are worse. I've also done heat and ice, this pill and that pill, this shot and that shot, this natural herb and that natural herb. Whatever, if they make it, I probably have used it. But, there is always that chance that someone may have something that I do not know about.

Thanks all for the warm welcome! I'm wrapping up at work and just poked into my personal email and saw this. I'll be on later tonight. Oldman, yours sounds a lot like mine. I have oesteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease, spondylosis, osteopenia, previously diagnosed with fibromyalgia 3 years ago and 2 weeks ago new rheumatologist thinks it's more polymyalgia than fibro. Not to sound like a charity case or poor, pitiful me. Been dealing with chronic pain for 20 years that has progressed to all of this nonsense. Oldman, I'll PM you with all the ugly details :).

Hi Knight, interesting site. I've heard of the healing properties of turmeric but never heard of curcumin :).
