I am recently retired - two months. Just interested in finding some on line conversation for those quiet times
of the day/night. I am 61. Married 43 years. Three grown children and seven grandchildren. Husband and I
own a small motel/bed and breakfast in northern Michigan so not fully retired yet! ... we do have it up for
sale and are hoping we can begin a totally retired lifestyle soon.

Hi Raeanne!

Welcome Raeanne , from London England

I'm just behind you.. coming up to 61 in the spring..still working full time..and no grandchildren...

I have enough on my plate with a husband and work, so I think with all your grandkids and your hard work with the B&B, you'll deserve your retirement when it comes :D

Welcome!

My family has quite a history in Michigan, and my folks retired there, from Chicago area. Considered some property near Allegan Forest. imp

Welcome raeanne, from the central California mountains. I bet its interesting having a motel. I have never been to Michigan although my husband has worked there a couple times. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better on here.

Welcome Raenne from Massachusetts, the state of high taxes, ineffective government, tons of liberals and an equal amount of snow...oh, and Michigan's gift to the NE Patriots, Tom Brady. Haven't been to Michigan since I was a young boy, but it's on my list of destinations when we travel the country.

Thank you all. Its a dreary day with rain. Some parts of the state getting hit hard with high winds. At this time the wind isn't an issue here. I think
its south of us.
This is one of the slow times at the motel. We have a few construction workers and hunters coming in this weekend.
When the snow arrives that is our busiest season. Snowmobiling.

Where in Michigan were you from? and what took you to Scotland?

I've lived all over Michigan but born in Wyandotte, lived in Plymouth, Canton, Detroit, St. Ignace. I've also lived in MA, FL and TN but consider myself a Michigander. Most of my family is there including grandkids and we spend a month there every year.

Met my Scottish husband online in 1999 and moved here in 2000.
