HI All: I am a retired secretary [not acceptable title now]; a widow, and enjoy exchanging ideas and opinions with others [except for politics]. I am over 75, have a son & daughter, and 4 adult grandchildren. Also 1 great grandddaughter, 7. I live in central Mississippi on a beautiful lake. I am a Christian and enjoyed Easter services today. I enjoy reading - mostly fiction - and patronize the local library frequently.

Thanks for the welcome! I was in a widow's group soon after I became one and made some FB friends. Looking forward to being part of tis group.

Welcome, Dee Jay! I hope you'll enjoy your time here... and I know you will because it's an awesome group of people! How are things in Mississippi today? I'm in PA and although it's cold this morning, there are some beautifully warm days coming up this week. Pull up a chair and I'll look forward to reading your posts. Coffee? :coffee:

Welcome @Dee Jay !
I am a retired secretary [not acceptable title now]
I still use it, secretaries are important people without them most organizations wouldn't work. Some of the people I have kept in touch will the longest after leaving jobs are secretaries, good people all. In my experience neglecting a secretary was bad for one's happiness at work, and often their career.

I like Mississippi, visited many times, even lived in Ocean Springs for a short time. As and LSU grad I can even (mostly) forgive you for being home to Ole Miss, LOL!

Hello @Dee Jay. I was a secretary for most of my working life. Now, besides being a secretary, they have titles like Admin. Asst., Supervisor of something or other, or some fancy title. Ask them what their job entails and you will find they do almost exactly the job we did. Since they use computers and usually have a college degree, they are given impressive job titles. Oh well, time marches on.
