Welcome to the forum. Iā€™m a fellow musician too who plays saxophone and keyboards. Iā€™m a vocalist also. What type of musician are you? What do you play and what type of music do you like? I presume itā€™s jazz, hence the name.

Hi there and pleased to meet you. I am/was a professional full time touring and studio musician. Guitar, keys, and vocals as well as an engineer and producer. I like most all kinds of music and have played most of them. Yes, jazz is by far my favorite. Now, I play for fun and for my family. I am thankful!

Iā€™m not sure how I missed this but I did.
It looks like you do it all. It sounds like fun.
Your end decision to play for fun and for family is the decision I made also and donā€™t regret it. I have way more fun playing what I want. Did you used to play professionally at one time?

Iā€™ve been playing alto saxophone since 1974 and soprano sax since 2018. Iā€™ve got 4 saxophones. 2 altos and 2 sopranos.
I was in a stage band in high school. We played a variety of music at a variety of venues. We used sheet music. It was really fun. I stayed with the band once I graduated from secondary school. Once I quit the band and found playing my saxophone somewhat boring so stopped. Years later I wanted to play again but wanted a smaller saxophone so bought a second hand soprano. As soon as I played it I fell in love with it.

Iā€™ve been singing since I was 5. We took piano lessons when I was a kid and I now have a Roland keyboard set. I love singing and playing the background music. I havenā€™t played my keyboards in a while.

Once I purchased my soprano I discovered that I really enjoyed playing by ear. I think of songs that I liked and played them in a key that was easy for me or that sounded best.
After a while I had a list of songs that I really enjoyed. I also discovered Smule a couple of years ago. Itā€™s a karaoke app made for people who either want to sing with others or just want background music to play with. Unlike you, I didnā€™t learn much about music software.

Anyway, I do have some samples of music that Iā€™ve done. Hereā€™s a thread I started with some of the music I made. Each post has one song each that Iā€™ve done. If you donā€™t change songs after one song then youā€™re listening to others. Iā€™m singing with others so you might not instantly know which one is me. Some songs Iā€™ve played saxophone in.
