74 y.o. man with two dogs looking for friends to communicate with. I live in northern Lower Michigan not very far from Lake Michigan.

I enjoy the outdoors, walking all four seasons, skiing, motorcycling, occasional trail riding with my ORV. My home is in the Huron-Manistee National Forest.

I'm not a TV or movie junkie, but do enjoy some PBS programming, documentary/current affairs/history/science.

Hello from Toronto!

The days we used to record shop in Detroit are long gone, but we used to cross the border a fair bit, way back when.

What kind of dogs do you have? Lots of animal lovers here :)

Thanks to all who've replied so far, didn't expect so many replies so quickly.

@ronaldj lots of people from your part of the state vacation in mine. I live on a gravel road on the way to various put-in/take-out points on a popular kayaking/canoeing/fishing river and on holiday weekends it gets busy!

@Pinky I have two Tibetan Terriers, 3.5 y.o. male, 11.5 y.o. female. They aren't really terriers of any sort but that's what they've been labeled as because they range from 20-30 lb. Every human on the face of the earth is their friend, super social little people. The male is high drive and he sometimes drives his older cousin (or me) crazy.

ETA: When you look up pictures of them, you often see floor length hair (not fur, they need to be trimmed now and then). I keep my guys' hair short because they don't need any help in picking up leaves, burrs, twigs, whatever. Living in the woods, I'd have a brush growing out of my hand if they had long hair.

Welcome and thanks for telling us about yourself, in your first 2 posts, here with us. :)
It must be beautiful, where you live, and those dogs of yours sound like good company. You probably get lots of snow, and long winters?

Thank you, Kaila. NW Lower MI is a nice area. I grew up in the U.P. and lived quite a few years in far NE MN, so "long, cold winters" is relative. I thought this area was semi-tropical when I moved here in 1981. Temps hardly ever go below 0 degrees F, average snowfall is typically 120" or so. The highest I've seen was a few years ago, ~190". I'm a skier, so bring it on!

@rhett48 Welcome to Senior Forums, from Pennsylvania. In some ways, our forum is like living on a gravel road, watching the World go by! What are your two dogs names?

Hello there....someone else from Lancashire in England. It sounds as though you are making the most of your retirement years. We are surrounded by good walking country here, with wonderful views and plenty of history.
