Im here more for my folks initially than myself. Im 63 and in relatively good shape. My folks are 83 and 85, my mother has lung cancer and my dad is caring for her in their home. I'm hoping the family here will be able
to help answer some questions that I have about issues that arise as they transition through this stage of their lives. Thanks all.

Welcome oldbro.../...we're all ages here from young seniors to elder seniors so hopefully your questions will have answers from the folks.

Incidentally you don't have to fill a profile if you don't want to..it's just nicer if we get to know a little about you..but absolutely not essential to be a member of this forum..so please don't let that deter you..

Hello Oldbro, welcome aboard! I'm sorry to hear about your parents, we had a similar issue with my husband's parents who were also in their 80s. He had a major stroke, and my mother in law could no longer care for him in their home, so we moved them in with us. Wishing the best for all of you.

Hi Oldbro and welcome. When I was 62 I was taking care of my 94 year old mother. I took care of my father many years before that as he died at the age of 64. My mom had alzheimer's so it was quite a job and I felt burned out many times, but I would do it all again if I could have her back. All the best.

In fact, yesterday was the anniversary of mom's death. (2004)

Hello Oldbro, and welcome to the forum. Hope you find the help you are looking for. What part of the world are you from?:)

Hi there Oldbro and WELCOME to the forum. I'm Lee from SW Ontario. Taking care of the old folks is one of the most demanding and frustrating jobs given. Yet it has it's rewards....smiles of gratitude.
