New vehicle nightmare.....

Anyone living in rust country knows...... It's not a question of if, but when some of that electronic dodah's start to malfunction due to a faulty ground. (which by the way can be a pain to find) Yep, salty roads and washboard bumps and sooner or later..................poof

UPDATE: The guy who sold me the truck didn't understand exactly what its safety features are, and how they work. I think he does, now. The tech who checked the truck out was the same as the salesman. The Ram HQ, unbelievably, didn't know exactly what features I have, even though they were looking at my vehicle features, on their end. I have a feeling my VIN was misfiled, as there was some confusion, on the HQ's end, if I had the truck I thought I have! Never mind the sticker even had "Made specially for (my full name)."

My final take on this: Get to be an expert on the features you want on your new vehicle. Read the many forums, online, for your new vehicle. Ignore the rap of the salesmen and manufacturer's reps. They will know less than you, if you've done your due diligence.

I'm keeping my truck. I will turn off the active braking function, when on the expressway, as there are too many horror stories about vehicles braking, for no discernible reasons. I do like my truck. It's very comfortable, great ride, lots of room, lots of great features, even if I don't use all of them.

I'm glad you got this issue resolved to your satisfaction. It's mind boggling to think that the people selling the cars/trucks and those who maintain them are in the dark in this regard.

It's a rare occasion when a salesman actually knows much about what they're selling. Don't ever forget that they're main purpose is to get that all important signature on the contract, nothing else :( Being a car guy/gear head, I found this out early in life. My biggest surprise came in the early 80's when I went to buy a motor home. Having been a camper for years and familiar with the quirks of rv'ing, nevertheless, I was astounded at just how dumb the salesman, service manager and even the mechanics were to the workings of an rv. I suppose I should have been pleased when the service tech offered me a job

Saw one flame up about10 years ago in the parking lot at work and it was in full blaze

Many Ford owners weren't as lucky. Theirs was in the garage & burned the whole house down while the owners were asleep. The fires started several hours after the car was parked.

Well our 1 year car is "Totaled" ...I hope I'm not repeating this.....I was in a fog for a while when our car was rear ended....just before New Year's Eve...We were traveling to our cottage....A truck slammed into the back of the car, while we were stopped in traffic...A rainy night in a different
State...We only had 1 hour to get to our cottage....So, now we are looking for a car....They finally told us this morning....We have to give up the
loaner in 5 days...Anyway, we are alive and talking....That's all that matters....Buy the way, the car "was" a Lincoln one year old....
We bought it after my husband went through chemo, radiation and surgery...We bought a cottage.....We celebrated at the time....
We'll be OK and celebrate a "smaller car" when we are at the cottage....We can fly home!!!! No more Highway's with traffic.....
Thanks for listening.....♥
