New Year Goals/Ambitions/Resolutions

So, it's January 1st at the time I'm writing this. 2023 was rocky, so I hope 2024 settles down a bit.

But aside from emotional issues, I actually have a goal this year to begin and finish a particular goal - a project as it were. Things are beginning to line up so I'll have no excuse other than procrastination. It's been banging around inside my head for some time, I even started the project a couple years ago - but want to resurrect it for 2024. It'll be a fun project, and while it has no monetary value, it'll be a journey I think I'll enjoy.

So - how about y'all? Anything you're hoping to bring about in the new year, and brave enough to write it here so you can look back a year from now and bemoan the fact you never achieved it? :D

I never make New Year resolutions. When I want to make a big change I just make up my mind and do it immediately. For general things I want to do I have a list and find pleasure in crossing things off when they are done. My last husband was a champion procrastinator so anything I could do myself I did because it was beyond frustrating.

Not big on resolutions - my life is pretty good to tell the truth.

Just hoping to have a smooth, happy, healthy year, and wishing the same for all of you.

I never make New Year resolutions but I am this year. I'm hoping to focus on one or two art/crafts projects instead of having multiple projects that are not completed. Right now that is portrait painting and crochet.
That is good to hear. I do portrait painting as well. That includes people, buildings and pets. Mostly watercolor. I hope to get more done this year than last. I don't crochet.

No new year's resolutions here either....just try to avoid any major health problems or ER visits. My daughter is helping me slowly to clear out and organize my bulging closets, each one is a major job, we have two more to do so there is that.

First up this year is my snow ski season at 3 Tahoe resorts. Will be capturing some 1080p GoPro Hero 8 videos, some of which will go onto Youtube. Despite low snow conditions to this point, forecasts are showing a cold stormy January.

Then in March and April will likely do some wildflower landscape photography trips as some of our best coastal region areas have already received good rains. In the summer always do some Sierra Nevada photography backpacking.

And yeah am ready to Rock. July 17 have 2 tickets at the SF 49ers Levi Stadium on the highly sought after standing field level, for The Rolling Stones, Hackney Diamonds Tour. Also have a ticket for Aerosmith at the SF Giants baseball stadium that is being rescheduled as Tyler allows his vocal chords to recover. Also much local region outdoor music events to street dance to.

Given the DisplayPort 2.1 standard is now being implemented in silicon PCB products, that will finally allow large 8k PC monitors instead of just HDMI TVs. 8K TVs have flopped to this point given lack of content. Since 2018 there has been a 32" Dell PCmonitor available requiring 2 HDMI cables to drive, however with DisplayPort 2.1 two TCL large 65" and 57" PC monitors have already been announced. There is also a new 3D-printing OLED process that will allow building less expensive large lighter weight flexible panels.

When I purchase a couple of those products and a workstation with new 8k driveable video interfaces to drive them, will be able to start publicly exhibiting my photography on such monitors instead of traditional photographic prints that when as physically large as my work is logistically impractical. Ideally one of the large manufacturers will sponsor me in order to advertise such products.

Good to hear. My own little project is "arts" based too.
