New Years Resolutions

I may make one. I always need improvement and New Year's resolutions have worked well for me in the past -- quit smoking one year -- lost weight another. It helps me, when I start to weaken, to think, "So far this year I haven't had one smoke, I don't want to start over now...'

I have a few goals for the new year but no resolutions. I quit drinking and smoking years and decades ago, respectively, and don't have too many vices left that I have any inclination to resolve at this point. Perhaps next year I will, but not now.

Resolutions, it seems, are mostly to stop doing things... getting rid of bad habits. Well, maybe not. We can resolve to take up more constructive activities, but if it's something to do just for fun, resolving to do it might take some of the fun out of it. And at this age, if it's not fun, why do it if you don't have to?

I just bought a new, slinky, ankle length dress and my resolution is to
make sure I will look good in it. haha!
I have two new books in my head that I will write this coming year,
and hopefully, get published.
I will prepare for the art show in the Spring, (art wise and planting
blue flowers everywhere!)
I will move forward to find purpose and fulfillment in the expansion
of joy and happiness.
I will spend more time in reverence, devotion, meditation and prayer,
for the entire world because we are all connected.

I don't want to let myself down this year. I want to help myself. I'll make a list, check it often. Need some serious changes in matters of health, physical & attitudinal. If it takes bitching & moaning on this forum to help accomplish this, then yes I will! Thanking you guys in advance for your sage advice.

I realize this past year was centered on illness & death...........of my cats! Buffy was so seriously ill last January I didn't notice that Max was hit by a fast growing cancer until it was too late, which of course was too late from its inception. So Max dies, Buffy mourns and is so lonely. There were wonderful events that occurred this year but this was the theme of 2022, my poor beloved cats.

I never made an official New Years resolution. Although, I did quit drinking on January 3rd 26 years ago (will be 27 years in a week or so). That was just a plain old resolution and had nothing to do with New Years.
