New York in the 1890s

SeaBreeze, I loved the video. Surprised to see the buildings so high back then. Having just been to the city with my daughter and family and getting jostled and pushed without so much as an excuse me,as we walked through the streets, I wonder if the people were more friendly and caring back then. I'd like to go back for a week or so. I'm sure I'd miss all our modern conveniences and would be first in line to get my seat in the time machine.

I enjoyed watching the video, and seeing the buildings that are no longer there. I can just imagine the smells of the city, back then. Thanks, SB!:)

Harry Houdini and his wife Bess played at Tony Pastor's Theater in the mid 1890's. It was right on 14th St., near where I lived. Unfortunately the entire building was razed in the 1920's.
