New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to step down

She has given NZ fourteen years of service.
For six of those 14 years she has been the Prime Minister.
She departs on her own terms.
Brava.

Her party will have time enough to choose a new leader and prepare for the next election.
There will be an orderly transition of power, whichever way the vote goes.

IMO Jacinda Ardern is an excellent model for future national leadership.

It sounds as though she has simply had enough, which is understandable. It must be exhausting having all that responsibility.

Some say it was her potty mouth but there were probably other reasons possibly not wanting to work to get re-elected(probably not as popular as she had hoped going into an election)

Potty mouth? Really?

You should hear what male members of parliament sound like when they think the mike is turned off.
It does not affect their decisions, nor their popularity.

Have you read any of news in NZ and why she said she was leaving. You probably shouldn’t just speculate, nor should I, but at least I’ve read what she said.

Having seen her on/thru BBC news..at different times..
She 'struck me' as being quite competent...
I was impressed.
She was never more impressive than she was when she addressed the community of the Christchurch mosque after (to our shame) an Australian murdered people at prayer.

This article, and the photo speaks to her integrity, intelligence and compassion.
