Newbie, not yet retired, thinking about it

I typed in "old people forum" and this came up, lol. I will be 66 soon but still think I'm not "old" no matter how much evidence there is to the contrary! Lovely to find a place where people talk to each other and there are options that are not political or religious or anything else that just makes me upset. But sometimes I have to think about the controversies too, feel like I'm dead if I quit. From Georgia, USA.

Hi and welcome from Scotland. There is plenty to do here and you can avoid the heavy subjects if they do upset you. I hope you have fun and that when the time to retire does arrive that you enjoy it. :welcome:

Hello lovely people, thanks for the welcome! It will take me a while to figure out how to best contribute (and best extract the good, lol) here but I will!

SCOTLAND!! My closest connection to Scotland is I love The 39 Steps (Hitchcock), a lot of Scottish scenery in it - at least I think it's real. Would LOVE to visit - so far away. You get SNOW!! Enjoy some for me.

Hi Frances!

'Thanks, Lon. You look pretty lively to me. Not sure I'd go back 10 or 20 years - physically I guess yes but not the life trauma. I'd be in excellent health for my age except I keep breaking things - recovering from broken wrist and broken toes at present, sigh. Hopefully the last break, I don't even have osteoporosis, just frighteningly clumsy and it seems like previous injuries (broken ankle, fractured kneecap) make me vulnerable to new ones. But these are spread over 20 years, not quite as bad as it sounds.

Has someone collected all these awesome signature lines in one place? When I get time I'm gonna do it! LOVE YOURS!
