Hi all, April here. Living, roasting, sometime perplexed, relaxing and mostly enjoying life in FL.

This looks like a nice place to set my cup of tea and have a chat now and again especially knowing most of the people I may be chatting with are at least as old as I am and won't keep qualifying conversations with this if for people under the age of 50. :( :D I will continue to look around to get a better feel of the place, but so far, this forum seems like a nice and interesting place to drop by. I'm really looking forward to reading more of what's already been posted to the existing threads.

Meanderer, Falcon, thank you for the welcome.

Meaner, I keep ice tea close by, but having given up the morning coffee, I must have my hot tea day or night, no matter the temperature, besides it's always cool indoors. :)

Falcon, I've already been enjoying your postings, I've had quite a few belly roll laughs thanks you. :D

Oh April is my favorite month as well, it's one of the reasons I assigned myself that name.

Hello and welcome April.
I like your name but September is my favourite month.
It is just a lovely sunny day here with a comfortable temperature and
fall flowers are blooming.

:welcome:

HI April, welcome to the forum.

I'm Holly and I'm in London England and I wish it was as warm as Florida.. :giggle:

Hi Holly, nice to meet you. Believe me if you were visiting these past weeks, you would be very thankful for your London weather. :)

Thank you, Toots, Really cute name. :)

Hello April, sure you will enjoy this forum, it's friendlier than most.:)

Hi oakapple, I think I will enjoy it, does seem to be quite a friendly group, which is a breath of fresh air.

Hi April. In the winter, we are on the east side of Florida and pay a visit to your coast once a year to the Hard Rock Casino. Welcome to the forum.

Hi there Pappy, thank you for the welcome. If that's the Tampa Hard Rock Casino, you are referencing, I used to live in that town some years ago and only visited the casino twice, both times were after I had moved out of the area, actually out of the state for a year and a half. LOL. When I moved back to FL for the third time I moved a bit more south of Tampa. My first move to the area was on the East side, which I actually like better for a variety of reasons, but, I'll stay put for now.

Nice to have you all stop by, feels good to be welcomed so nicely. Won't be long till I'll be getting the end of a hard shoe, but for now, it feels really good. j/k I am sweet as pie. ;)

Hi April and Welcome. Is April your birthday month and that's why you like it? Nice folks, nice conversation here.

Hello Lee, thank you for welcoming me. Yes, I'm an April born Taurus. :D

Not to be forgotten, Hello Raven, a most lovely name. September in FL is to die for, no really, you will literally die if you stand outside for too long. OK maybe that's a bit too dramatic, but, I'll take April, which in FL is still pretty hot at times. Today there was a little bit of a breeze though, I saw a leaf flicker. I'm thinking a major storm is coming.

Hi April and welcome. I am in Clearwater at the moment until next week when I go back North for awhile to take car of our other home in PA. As you know, we have been having some really bad weather here on the Gulf, at least where I am. I have been trying to get out and do some fishing, but the weather is not cooperating. I won't go on the water when the chop is above two feet.

Anyway, as I used to say to may passengers and I worked as a pilot, "Welcome Aboard."

Have you ever been to Graceland?

No, but I've been to Disney World. :playful: Anyway, I did grow up watching many a Elvis movie, loved his blue suede shoes, he was definitely a hound dog and couldn't get enough of kissing cousins. ;) But then again, I was whisked off to lots of movies as a kid, so my likes and taste are more varied than most, you won't be able to figure me out based on being a fan of Elvis's music. :D But, sometimes, not always, I can tell a lot about those that make swift judgements based on so little info.

Hello oldman, I might as well state where I am so people don't have to guess, I'm still even more south than Clearwater and St Pete, but, I did spend a lot of time at Madeira beach when I lived in Tampa. Make sure you visit Shepard's for a fun day of music and dancing afternoons or evenings. I've always had a great time when I've visited that place. Oh and I'm in Sarasota, mostly I go to Siesta Beach, but I also visit Lido beach once and a while, think I might be avoiding Vinice beach, forget worry about sharks, they've been getting visits from gators, I think it's more related to the gators being relocated due to the rough waters you've mentioned, more flooding in the streams and rivers that are pushing the gators out to sea.

A very warm welcome to the forum, dear April.

Hi there Knighttofalbion, curtsie and thank you for the welcome.

Shepherd's is a fun place. They are now a huge resort, having built another building and indoor parking garage. Siesta Beach has some beautiful sunsets. I go to Sand Key just across the bridge that goes over Clearwater Pass.

Today is the first day of alligator hunting here in parts of Texas. :magnify:

LOL. Seems no matter where you go there they are, at least if you want to bask in the sun anyway.

Siesta Key Beach does have some beautiful sunsets, though, I wasn't as impressed with the over all appearance of the beach's flat appearance when I first visited having lived at the Jersey shore are for several years and also spent the night on Ocracoke beach. Siesta sand is gorgeous though, there's little to compete with that part of it. I will post some pics some time in the future.

Your appreciation of Elvis earns you a hearty welcome from me, but you should make a pilgrimage to Graceland some time...
