What a beautifully written article. This should be required reading for all those who are loudly proclaiming that this is a disease of the very elderly in nursing homes, it isn't that bad, they don't know anyone who has it, etc.
Her writing has the ring of validity to it, and unless that picture is a fake, she was certainly in the hospital. And why would anyone make up something like this, anyway?
Maybe it's time to remove the politics from our attitudes about this disease, and the blinders from some of our eyes.
