Yes, it is possible as the Constitution does not require an actual member of Congress to be Speaker. He said if asked he would serve. In fact, anybody could do the job. Would you?
 

No. Who would want to get into that mess? You just can't make up the drama going on with House Republicans... So funny.. We will just sit back and watch them implode.. They can't even pick a Speaker let alone actually GOVERN this country. Hopefully Americans will be so tired of this crap by next November we can take back the HOuse and get some things done for the American people...
 
Newt would be an excellent choice as a Speaker... representing the "Party of family values". Let's see...

Married his 26 year old geometry teacher when he was 19. Told her he was divorcing her while she was hospitalized recovering from her third cancer surgery. Married his second wife days after the first divorce was final. Divorced his second wife to marry an aide whom he was having an affair with. She is 23 years younger than he is.

Hannity was trying to build up Gingrich as a candidate for Speaker. Guess morals and marriage vows don't mean much to the "conservatives".
 

The pay is good to just sit around with wooden hammer,$223,500, not to mention all the hundreds of benefits that go with it.
I think you can keep the jet and limo.
