Sports fans who don't like this new headgear because it "makes the game less tough" apparently do not care about the well being of the players. Would any of them want their brothers or children to risk permanent damage to their heads/brains if they played and didn't wear gear that would provide better protection? I doubt it.

As a long time Dallas Cowboys fan. I love that commercial. At least I did way back then. I was in favor of changing the team name Redskins in football. But against changing the name Indians in baseball. I refuse to say Guardians. It's the Cleveland Indians. Always. As for Washington. I don't say Washington Commanders. It's a stupid name. So I just say Washington.

For this avid football fan, I think it's time has come.
We will get used to the new helmet change just like we did with newer pads, shoes, concussion protocol, etc.
A friend mentioned that it would make players easier to tackle.
I reminded him that 'horse collar' and head tackling was outlawed years ago.

I want players as safe as possible and safety measures haven't diminished the game as far as I'm concerned.

I'm looking forward to the new kickoff setup. I have missed the returns in the NFL. I understand they did it for safety reasons. The new setup should take care of that and make the returns exciting again.

I have no problem with helmets, kick offs, and any of the other things mentioned, but I do have gripe with today's baseball uniforms or lack of same.

I have always thought that "uniform" stands for sameness. Military, police, some forms of attendents, etc. Basebal teams have alway worn uniforms. Now these "uniforms are anything but ! Pants are glorified shorts while others are shoe top length. The team home uniform is normally white and (pick A color) and the road uniform gray. The lettering and trim was red, blue, black, etc., with all other paraphernalia matching.

Now, the team may have white uniforms with blue trim, lettering, and caps, ALONG WITH an assortment of lime green, pale pink, lavender, and anything that pleases the individual player. The term uniform should be discarded and clown suits should be substituted.
