Nicola Bulley

The logistics of keeping a dead body, then putting it in the water while the whole area was covered with police and people makes it highly unlikely.
I think she was in the water all the time but the divers missed the exact spot. They cannot work instant miracles but obviously they didn't give up.
Who knows how she drowned but the pathologist will find out.
...but the police weren't there all the time, because if they had been the amateur detectives wouldn't have been able to stomp all over the scene

If a dog were well-trained and told to ‘stay’, would it have followed her in, if that was her purpose.

Bodies often aren’t found immediately in a search, because they become trapped under debris and branches.

That's what I think. Or possibly Willow was running ahead and didn't see what happened, went back and couldn't find Nicola so stayed at the bench where she could get her scent. Springer spaniels are smart dogs.

Is this a reasonable explanation for why the body was missed?
"Officers and divers scoured the area where the body was found within the first 48 hours but it had not been looked at since private search expert Peter Faulding investigated it on February 6. Efforts had instead focused further downstream, towards the sea."

I feel so sorry for her family and friends, the waiting for closure and the heartbreak if it turns out to be her.

Generally speaking, i think these days there is too much criticism, everything is required right now, faster and faster. The media whips up aggravation when there is usually no reason.

The police do the best they can and work systematically, they cannot work miracles. There will be no doubt good reasons for all and that will be explained soon enough.
It is easy for the general public to keep finding fault from the comfort of our armchairs and homes. The unpalatable truth is that there is no end to the variations of human behaviour, nothing and nobody is as they appear and very little is ever easy.

I should imagine there will be a big enquiry now, into the whole affair. Not just the way in which police have conducted themselves, but the appalling abuse which the family has been subjected to. Absolutely despicable.
Another thing to be addressed is her medication. There are various methods of taking HRT. If one didn't suit her, her doctor could have tried another. Was she let down by the medical profession?

Do you mean with 'purpose', that Nicola Bulley wanted to commit suicide? In this case it seems highly unlikely that she took the dog with her. Bodies sometimes become trapped, that's right, but if the police and private divers meticulously searched the river it is unlikely too, that they didn't find her, especially with a depth of the river no more than 3 feet.

Indeed it is just such a strange case. We really know nothing but barest facts.

yes true..however even other police forces have weighed in against the Lancashire police and they've even reported themselves to the upper powers Police commissionaire I think ). to be investigated as to their ineptness with regard to this case.. Head of Crime Det Ch Supt Pauline Stables, is to conduct an indepth review into their investigation instigated by the Government

yes just saw that... not that we would have thought it would have been anyone else ..but now they'll have to find out just how long she's been in there. Could be she was attacked and thrown in there on the first day , and been there for 3 weeks..

Asst Ch Const Peter Lawson confirms the body that was found is that of Nicola Bulley.

He says her family have been informed, and they are devastated.

Yes, that's a bad day for her family, but on the other hand they now know that she is dead. Often the uncertainty is much more devastating. Condolences to her family and may Nicola rest in peace.

I am actually frightened and disturbed about many people's behaviour while Nicola was missing. What is happening to so many that they think they can interfere and try to get pictures for their social media pages? Apparently some even tried to photograph the body.

Were people always like this? Also the media just don't stop with their brutally intrusive methods.

I hope the family are now left in peace.

In Germany some of the people even stop their cars on the highways to film horrible car accidents. Many a time the police criticized such atrocious behavior.

These days people are constantly being made scapegoats, as if blame must be attached to someone. It's awful how the main diver who searched for the body is being picked on. I'm sure he did his best, it's not his fault she died like this.

It remains to be seen how and why this woman was in the river.

he's just been removed from the Police list of searchers.. that's appalling !! The Lincolnshire Police need scrapping and starting all over again with new recruits.
