Night Owls Thread

That's how it is now. Hobby Airport has closed which is good as you can't get to it anyway. Keep getting tornado warnings on the phone. Most freeways closed. So far no water in the house yet.

Its 12:45 am here in Houston and our rain has started again. Theres already 13 inches on one of the freeways and a reporter just called in and is stuck on the freeway in the water. Hopefully we will keep power. We had a break late yesterday afternoon and I went to the mail box and got my mail. TV weather centers are advising not to get out on roads. I will be here unless I have to be rescued!! Going to be another late sleepless night!!
How's it going now Terry? I see that the Houston area is flooded badly. I saw that on the news.

It's 1:45 here and I am having a little bit of shiraz. It's a beautiful night here. I feel badly for those in the great Hurricane Harvey's path.

We received two Sunday papers so I'm clipping coupons . I'm food shopping tomorrow because towards the end of the week it will be bedlam because of the holiday.I doubt I'll use many of them. They always Jack the prices up before a holiday. We will see.

Its 12:48 am here in Houston. Heavy rain stopped for now. Just dripping a little now. Power is still on. Actually slept for 4 hours straight and feel much better. Will see what today brings.

I'm so glad you are okay Terry! Power is on is great! I hate it when it goes out!

So, it's about 1:30 am here in Arizona, and I am so thankful that the A/C is working again. It went out about this time on Saturday and the earliest appointment with the repair guy was Monday morning. Thank goodness it was an easy fix. When it's 91 degrees inside your house, it is really, really hard to sleep.

Have a great Tuesday!

That's a beautiful dawn scene there Greyson in your post #60. I'm having a cup of warm caffeine-free detox tea at 3am. It's an organic medley of ginger, turmeric, sarsaparilla, fennel, dandelion, burdock, anise, coriander, licorice, cardamom, and black pepper. Made sorta' locally in Asheville NC.

Gee - it's 2:30 am here in Arizona and I'm having a cup of coffee. btw, I used to have a condo in Lake Lure. Lovely part of the country.

That tea sounds so good Lara. I had some detox tea but ran out. The store that sold it went out of business. Maybe Amazon.com might have it. I need a good detox, too!

Hi Terry and Greyson and Ken. Those owls are so cute!! It's not so late now. It's 10:55 here now. I'm watching the end of the 10:00 news. I may try to "hit the sack" earlier tonight but not sure how that will go as I took a nap earlier.

It is 11:19 PM in New Jersey. The kids are coming for the weekend and Labor Day. I invited my brother and sister in law as well. Sitting here trying to figure out what to have for dinner. They say we will have some rain on Labor day from the remnants of the hurricane. The grill is on the porch so we can still use it but we will probably eat inside. Old bones can't take the dampness. Being together is all that counts anyway. Wishing you all a nice weekend. Texas of course will be uppermost in our thoughts.

Here's the most important news of the day - The Ohio State University Buckeyes defeated Indiana last night 49-21. At the kickoff the spread was 20 1/2, so the Bucks covered.

That is all.
