He was a visionary who dreamed of the wireless transmission of free energy. While a genius, Tesla didn't understand the realities of the business world, which led to his failure. He suffered nervous breakdowns and manifested symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder. He became obsessed with the number 3, and spent days in the park with pigeons, the only creatures that mattered to him. To the public, Tesla appeared to be a stereotype of the mad scientist.
