Watch this 5 minute video. He does not need a license to drive, he is a free inhabitant under the Articles of Confederation, (say what), also "You can look it up in your United States Book of Codes". Look what up? What a loony tune!! The kicker, when she is removed from the car, she cries RAPE. With the tremendous violence against women in this country, this is a slap in the face to all women.

They're known as "Sovereign Citizens". They're lunatics. They never get away with it. Youtube is full of cops smashing windows because the person refuses to identify. Along with no license, they tend to have unregistered vehicles and no insurance.

When I lived in Houston, my neighbor was close to this. On our first talk he said, "You know, you don't have to pay taxes, it's all a lie."

But then, it WAS Texas. :D

That Micky Mouse voice (or should I say Minny Mouse) is enough to get arrested for...Lol.

Those Sovereign Citizens drive me up the wall. I asked a relative who is a deputy sheriff how he handles them. I don't, he said, just put them in the car and let someone over my pay grade deal with it at the jail. There's no talking to them, they can't be reasoned with.

I was watching a court show once and there was a defendant arguing that the court had no jurisdiction over him because he was appearing as John Smith the Person and they had arrested John Smith the Entity. Different day, same 'ol sh!t,

@VaughanJB, you pretty much summed it up that they're lunatics. Very dangerous for police, or anyone, to deal with these individuals.

It's laughable when she told the officer he didn't know his own laws. She must have missed her history class the day they taught that the Articles of Confederation was only law between 1781 & 1789 & was null & voided when it was replaced by the U.S. Constitution.

@MACKTEXAS, his body camera is his witness. Even in Ohio in rural areas, there may only be 1 or 2 deputies on duty to patrol the entire county. Your backup may be coming from the other side of that county to get to you.

I think that the folks that claim to be "sovereign citizens" often associate themselves with the Confederacy from the War between the States, but not all... by a long shot. And they are also confused by people outside of the "sovereign citizenry" of being "Southern sympathizers" because they always refer to the Articles of the Confederacy... which preceded the War between the States 70-80 years... late 1700s. I always have felt like I was watching a pinball game when I've heard friends and others discuss such things, because it is rather confusing. But some of it, I thought rather compelling.

Some of them are "looney tunes" or whatever because they have all their "facts" wrong... but some of the argument can be rather compelling when it's not used as something to break the law or act like an anarchist. Some sovereign citizens just want folks in the US to think hard about what's going on in regard to "Big Government" and whatnot. Maybe roll-back some of the ways we are doing things.
There are many so-called sovereign citizens living in the North and New England areas... born and raised there. Many in the Western US and Midwest... all over.

I just saddens me to see them painted with a broad brush... this woman obviously incorrect in oh so many ways and needs to cool her heels... and since we aren't to get into political discussions here (yay!!), I'll leave it at that.

There are always people that want to partake of all the conveniences of modern society, but not abide by the rules and laws necessary to make modern society a safe and fair place for all. They don't see how demanding what they see as their rights, infringes on others rights, rights the Constitution entitles all of us citizens.

I'll bet that these folks who "aren't bound by the laws of the United States" aren't equally against receiving services from the government?

I'm sure they'd have no problem accepting services from the fire department, emergency personnel or even the police if they need them. How about unemployment, welfare or social security money? Are they also rejecting them?

Are their children attending public schools?

I think we know the answers to that.

I think I know what a Sovereign Citizen is, but do they now have an organization, or is it just something a crazy person just blurts out?

Yes, they have degrees......a B.S. (Bull Sh!t), an M.S. (More of the Same) and a Ph.D. (Piled  Higher and  Deeper).

And they have a corner of Social Media where they come together and swap stories, "research", and documents. So it MUST be true. :D

Wow! This video was an eye-opener. My blood pressure must have shot up just watching this and going "yuck!" She seemed like she had taken something (or too much caffeine) before the cop caught up with her. She was high-strung, and it was like watching a toddler having a full-blown tantrum. Maybe she thought by recording him and screaming loud enough, she would get her way. It wasn't going to happen. The cop was very patient with her and calm. I really liked how he handled it.

I think she was just a passenger in the vehicle. Before it really got started with her, there was a brief shot of a fella in cuffs. Her speak about the license was I think, in defense of the fella and likely something she parroted from him and bought into. Maybe the officer had probable cause and wanted to search the vehicle but she refused to get out. Failure to comply, impeding, resisting, possibly assault and maybe a couple of other things.

After they tow the vehicle to the police yard, what happens next to the car?
