No Kids playing out with toys

First I have to say that here where I live children play out all the time. It's a very safe area.

Every single year, on Boxing day if the weather is good like it i today, the children come out and play with their toys they got for Christma. Scooters, Bikes, electric toys..(cars etc).. all sorts..

Today I've noticed, a distinct lack of children playing out ...it's 1pm...

Does that mean that finally electronic games, ipads, and phones have finally taken over as the favourite among the children , here as well ?

It's not that the kids around here don't have those things already, they have. ..however it always seems that despite those, they prefer to play out with regulalr ''old fashioned'' toys....... but now at 1pm.. there's no sign of any of the children playing out today... and that's not usual..

They aged out, perhaps?

Or, yeah, more likely their eyes are stuck on a screen.

Kids play outside my place, but they're usually kicking a ball, playing hide and seek and the like.
 
Kids in my neighborhood don't play in the streets anymore, but the parks are mobbed with the little rascals!
