No lithium batteries to be had around here

I spent the morning running around trying to get 2 AA-size batteries for my camera, None to be had locally - just alkaline batteries. Is there a lithium battery shortage that I haven't heard about? I didn't want to make the 30 mile round trip to the next burg only to find there weren't available there, either.

They are very available where I live, don't know why you're having trouble. I usually get them at Walmart, but they have them in drug stores like Walgreens. I think they even have them in some supermarkets. What I use for my camera.

I have been using alkaline batteries in my Canon camera for years. When they get old I just put new ones in. Never been a problem.

Here, too, SB. Debodun, you can always order them online -- I'm sure Amazon has them, and I always get stuff from them very quickly.

Check out the sales on EBAY. Quite often, you can buy things like these for about 1/2 the price at the stores.

The problem is that since I don't have any "plastic", I can't order online.

You might want to consider getting a credit card, and using it for online shopping. I've been buying online for well over 15 years, and I usually average between a 30 to 50% savings over what the same items would cost in the stores. I'm sure my savings have added up to thousands of dollars. It is so much more convenient to shop online, and avoid the expense and wasted time of running around to the stores. Outside of things like clothing, I Always go to the Web, first...even if I plan to go to the stores....to see if the item is in stock, and which store has the best price.

Amazon will issue you a credit card with your order and give you $70.00 if you qualify. Any other excuses?

Yes, they will, but I got mine a few years ago and only got $50. I use it for almost all online purchases because every time you use it you get points, which get you a $25 off card. I've gotten several of those, and happily used them.

Debodun, you can save a lot of money buying things online, not to mention the gasoline and wear and tear on your nerves running all over town to find things. Time to enter the 21st Century!
