No Mask, No Burger

JaniceM, yes I live in MN. I thought I'd checked awhile back, but I was wrong. Yes I can use my EBT card at Amazon! This is a life changer!

Right now there is only one possible glitch. Our elevator is being replaced. It might take a month to finish the job. In the meantime, we have two porters who work 3 days a week. They will carry stuff up & down stairs. So I need to coordinate with their schedule.

That's understandable. Depending on what you order, some of the delivery boxes can be quite heavy.

We have a chairlift on one staircase. I fit in the chair snugly.... I had room for one small package on my lap when I first tried it. Each floor has a different chair. I'd never get my groceries up the stairs that way!

JaniceM, I checked. Only certain states will allow you to use Food Stamps on Amazon.
@ronk Walmart lets you order online but you have to pay at drive-thru window with the EBT card first then they'll load your groceries into the car...call them to verify this.....its still easier than shopping on foot in the stores.

I order a lot of stuff from Amazon. They deliver here. Amazon has steadily been using their own delivery drivers. A few things are shipped via UPS or Postal Mail. I've thought of that Walmart drive up service, but it's complicated. I don't have a car. It would likely be hard to coordinate with our taxi service.
I just ordered a bunch of food from Amazon. It was weird. I tried one order, and it said some of my stuff wasn't eligible for EBT. I deleted the order and tried again... Wouldn't work. I made a smaller order. Apparently everything on this order was OK. I'm not quite sure what the original problem was.

Probably only the food items went thru and paying the non-food items with another form of payment doesnt work....they only accept one form of payment which needs to be changed and updated for our better usage.....

Actually it's trickier than that. I use a link which is only supposed to show me EBT-eligible stuff. But sometimes ineligible food items show up. Some items are only available from Amazon's Pantry service. Those are not eligible for EBT either.

I eat McDonald's burgers all the time. Tastes like beef to me. I've never gotten sick off one yet. It's been 54 yrs.

I had to make a quick run to our local Walmart this afternoon, and they had a "gateway" at the entrance with a big burly employee standing there, and signs stating No entry without a mask.
All the local fast food places, McDonalds, Burger King, etc., in our area are "take out" only....no inside seating. You can go in to order, but if you want to eat/drink your order, you have to do so in your car, or elsewhere.

I believe the rumors about meat coming from other countries is decades old. Maybe many years ago, the meat came from other countries, but I think it was likely inspected. I'd like to go to a McDonald's but I don't have a car. Maybe I can sit on a rock and eat my food?!

Starting Aug. 1, you won't be able to enter a McDonald's in the US without a face covering. Noting that 82% of its restaurants are in places under government pandemic mandates to wear a mask, the company said, "It's important we protect the safety of all employees and customers."

Well, if I understand this correctly, it has to be foods that are 'from Amazon,' not from other sellers selling on Amazon.

Who still eats at McDonalds? it was my understanding their meat comes from other countries. (with no inspections?)
Intrigued by your reply, I went to Snopes to see if that claim is false. I had to search a couple of pages under McDonalds but found the answer I was looking for. From one of the paragraphs....
"While this is a fascinating premise, there’s nothing to it: McDonald’s hamburger patties in the U.S. are made with 100% USDA-inspected beef. They are cooked and prepared with salt, pepper and nothing else; no preservatives, no fillers."
Here's the link from the Snopes page: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/mcdonalds-100-beef/

And to answer the original question. I periodically get the egg and cheese biscuit from McD's. Haven't had one in months though. I also like their ice cream cones.

Diva, I went to your link but read several different answers. "100% beef", their distributer, is a company name.
Are you saying there is no"soy" filler in the beef?
Is this "select" beef or "choice" beef?
"Select"can be any scraps, several qualities as "cutter".
Is beef from Canada and Australia inspected?
Are those the only foreign countries with which they recieve their beef?
Are there other countries from which they recieve their meat that arn't advertised?

I appreciate your looking this up. i followed you but couldn't get a definitive answer. I looked like several different answers.
I loved McDonalds 30 years ago but i've heard so many stories about the quality of their meat, I'm a little skiddish about eating it.
Thanks for your interest though. The above quote was only one response of several.
I didn't see a final conclusion in "snopes". Am i missing something?

Beef from Canada? Definitely inspected. In fact there are Mc Donald's restaurants in Canada and i'm pretty sure they get all their beef from Canadian suppliers.

Oh i'm sorry...I think I found what I posted on page 3. Yes, Snopes posts all the questions that are asked to confirm or debunk as truths about any given subject. What you read was all the claims made about McDs, some of them (and responses) go back 18 years. I took the conclusion to be what I posted in quotes and italics. That was directly from Snopes answer about is MdD's meat being100% beef, but that may not be current.
