No matter how hard you try....

Art and music.
I can successfully play the radio and that is it. I have tried to learn how to play the guitar, but I just "don't get it."
Watercolor painting was one of the more difficult things I ever tried. I did complete two paintings that my wife framed, but it took forever and I had to do them both over and over again before I was minimally satisfied with them. Amazingly, the painting of my cat Kaley and my dog Gracie actually look like them. How that happened is a mystery to me, but the entire effort was so painstaking that I will not venture there again.
Perhaps give oil painting a go?
Churchill stated he attacked the canvas as though going to war (I think), and the good news too, is you dont need to be able to draw in order to be able to paint in oils.

Housecleaning. It looks fine to me but my wife can easily point out a lot of stuff I miss.

Yep. I think my house looks just fine until my sister-in-law comes in and drops remarks like, "Have you thought of hiring someone to help with the cleaning?" or "Resolve is just great for making the carpets look less grubby." My husband used to tell me to just ignore his sister, but he's gone now and I'm losing my ability to cope...

Don't let her in! I'm serious! You don't need that!

Never tried to play an instrument, but I have doubts about my ability.
Have no interest in gardening.
had no training in vehicle engines. Really wish there had been classes in this!
High tech, even electronics are beyond me!

I am surprised, with all the wilderness stuff you have done, the Alaska stuff you got to do (very jealous btw about Alaska) that you have no interest in gardening

That's when I would ask her "Whose house is it" and if that didn't shut her up, I would say "If you don't like the way I'm doing it, do it yourself or keep your mouth shut" I sure wouldn't put up with it especially now that your husband is gone now.

What job are you terrible at?

Me: carpentry. There’s a saying measure twice, cut once. Oh no, not me. I just can’t make anything out of wood.
I can't clean the carpeting worth a darn. I think I'm doing the right steps with the carpeting cleaner but all I end up with is a soaking wet carpet. Well, maybe there's something wrong with the carpet cleaning machine...yeah, right, that's it... :D I'm very good at vacuuming the carpet, though.

Bake. I can cook up a storm, but I am a terrible baker. My mother was a wonderful baker and as much as I watched her and tried to copy what she used and did, mine was never right. I finally gave up.

[QUOTE="OneEyedDiva,

Oh yeah...can't grow plants to save my life. I kill them...each and every one! I killed a snake plant. You're not supposed to be able to do that. 😖
[/QUOTE]
I can identify completely! I've had every kind of plant, large and small - I've tried so hard, and killed them all :(

Nail polish and makeup. Couldn’t get the polish on without having to wipe it off my knuckles, anything beyond lipstick defeats me. Gave up on it. I’d have physical damage if I tried to put on liner and shadow.
But I compensate for that by having once changed out the guts of a toilet ;replaced a sink drain pipe.

Cooking, "convenience foods" are made for people like me. My wife has been feeding me for 61 years and doing a good job of it.

I take care of cars, plumbing and electrics.
