From Thursday January 27, wearing a face covering in indoor settings such as shops and supermarkets will not be compulsory.
GOV.UK stated: "Face coverings are no longer required by law in any setting."
Thanks to the accessibility of rapid lateral flow tests and the success of the vaccination rollout, the Government is able to take steps back to normalcy.
However, the Government urged the people of England to proceed with caution.
"Public health guidance will remain in place, suggesting individuals should continue to wear a face covering in crowded and enclosed spaces, where you may come into contact with people you do not normally meet."
Many individuals and businesses will opt to wear and promote wearing masks, and this is at their discretion.
