No more telling young or middle age people about the virus.

My nieces and nephews are late 20s, early 30s and they seem to be of the mindset, "It can't happen to me". The young seem to think that about a lot of things. Maybe it's because they grew up in such a different world than we did. I have early childhood memories of my uncles going off to war (Korea) and my dad being out of work when the mills went on strike. I learned at an early age that no one is invulnerable.

I don't have much contact with people in their 20s these days, but do know plenty in their 30s & 40s, all of whom take this virus extremely seriously for themselves, their parents and their children. No risky behavior at all.

Might depend on where you live, the trust various people place in science over politics, and the political bent of the people you're talking about.

I'm sorry about your friend @Robert59. What a grueling ordeal this must be for her and her family.

I think maybe denial about this disease has more to do with the political spectrum than it does with a person's age.

But it's probably just human nature for people to be a lot more concerned with what happens to themselves, and those closest to them, than to a lot of miscellaneous people "out there." Unless they have a beloved grandparent or family friend, most people in their 20's don't think a lot about the elderly population.

I'm not seeing politics in the decisions of people around me. My most liberal relative had no problem jumping on a plane to Oregon to visit family and then posting multiple pictures of them at bars and restaurants. I have conservative friends who are literal shut ins.

When I go on my daily walks,I see young people{20's-30}'s not wearing masks
In WNY where I live, sadly we have seen increase of virus cases with this age group The return of college kids in 2 schools are now dealing with this problem.Gov Cuomo and our country exec ,Mark Polanarz are quite concern about it. If it continues, businesses may have to close up again,we don't want that to happen.I would like either one of them issue a 'mandatory face mask in public, maybe that would knock some sense into their heads

Gary, if you're not seeing politics in the response to this disease, you're not looking very hard. The response by populations (not talking about individual cases here and there) has very much followed along political lines. Just read the statistics, man!

I said, and I quote, "I'm not seeing politics in the decisions of people AROUND ME" as in people I know and relatives.

We’re very aware of when & where we go so manage to not be around many people without masks. I‘m not an early bird, but that’s when most of my shopping is done now.

Reading the local FB communities, it’s downright scary the number of Covidiots there are. It’s even worse when you look at their sources to support their beliefs. One of the common rants is that old people should just stay home. A more common one today was that we should just die. Wow.

Since this is Canada, it isn’t along political lines.

I agree and some do not like it. . I really think that the way people deal with this is where they live. I live in the boonies and the "city" nearest me, iis also in the boonies. Heck I''m lucky I have internet at all! We have no one we know who is directively affecteded by this and our neighbors also. Now, don't get me wrong, I know we should NOT take this casually, it's a real thing. But if things don't affect you directivly , you tend to not see the big picture. Now, if I lived in a place, with no green place to go, no quiet to escape too, and just had to live with this stuff in your face all the time? Well, they are doing better than I would ever! I'd have went off the deep end a long time ago. omg.. I feel so sorry for people trapped in apt complexes in big cities, they have a huge reason to complain. I know I have it better than others and I wish I could help out
I admit, most of this hasn't had a really bad on my life. I live outside a small town, sure our restura
