No snail mail in 2 weeks

I have not received any mail in the last 10 business days. I get it at the post office so there's no possibility if it being stolen out of a street side mailbox. I am expecting some important mail, too. Just a co-winky-dink? A friend whom I mentioned this to said I should mail an envelope to myself from another PO and see if it gets through.

I suggest you go to the post office and explain your problem. If it were me,I would have been at post office after the 3rd day, sounds suspicious to me. Sue

Yes, I would go to the post office. You should have been getting something in the mail during this time even if it wasn't anything but junk mail. Something isn't right here. I would try your friends suggestion.

Yes. Check. In person. About 30 years ago, way before the internet and easy identity theft, my postman seemed surprised to see me outside when he was delivering. He said he thought I had moved as he had gotten a change of address notice for me. I went right to the PO that day and there had been one to forward my mail to a town just outside NYC. I did not know anyone out that way. Luckily, it had been caught in time and we reversed the addy change immediatly. I do not think I lost anything.

No mail since first post and the clerk at the window when I went there just shrugged and said that probably I was just not receiving any mail. I'll be more aggressive if my pension check isn't there next Friday.

I had to do as Aunt Bea did. Every morning I get an email, with what mail/packages were to be delivered that day. You can reply, checking off any mail you do not receive. Strangely, after not getting any mail for several weeks, after signing up for this service I get mail daily, circulars included.

I just tried to register for informed delivery. This is what I got for my trouble:

How disappointing, debodun. Wonder what eligibility criteria they use? For I live on a dirt road, in a sparsely populated unincorporated area, that is census designated...not even a real town.

There is not a charge but it is limited to certain areas. I would try to sign up again. Maybe you made a mistake and put in the wrong zip or something. Its nice to see what mail is coming your way each day. They have to scan the mail each day anyway. I was surprised that it was free considering the shape the post office is in. I would not pay for the service but I will use it for free. Monday is a Holiday so you will not get any mail, Monday.

I just noticed that you pick your mail up at the post office. That is the problem. According to the usps faq page..informed delivery is only for residential mail delivery.

This sounds like something I need to sign up for if I'm understanding it correctly. I have a lonnnnng driveway and I'm not able to drive any more. I have to walk out to my mailbox to check my mail and when I get out there and find I didn't get any mail, I think "I walked out here for nothing!". In cold weather, it seems like it takes forever! I don't go until the afternoon so it will have plenty of time to be delivered. If they send the emails out in the mornings about what mail I will be receiving that day, then I wouldn't have to go on the days I don't get anything. Is this when the emails come out and is it about the deliveries being made that day?

I use it for a similar reason, I live on the third floor and it saves me a trip up and down the stairs to check the mail.

I get my emails in the morning and the mail is delivered around three o'clock in the afternoon.

It will only show first class mail and will not include some of the junk mail like grocery store ads that are addressed to occupant.

It has been a big help on two occasions when a relief mailman put some of my mail in a neighbors box by mistake.

I wouldn't mind leaving junk in my box for several days but wouldn't be comfortable leaving bank statements or anything important because a few years ago, we had mail stolen from our box so since then, I have made a point to get it every day. I think I will sign up for it if it's available in this area. Thank you for the information!!!!!

If you have a p.o. box,is your fees up to date?
Happened to us a few years back, when we inquired at the desk she told us out "rent" was past due and they had a huge pile of mail on the shelf

I just tried to check again and the USPS site said "You account has been disabled."

After I checked to see if this service is available here and it is, I tried to register. Each time I filled out what was needed and then I clicked on continue, and it wouldn't "continue". It said my email address was case sensitive but I entered my email address correctly so if there was another problem, I don't have a clue what it could be. I'll try again another day. Maybe their computer is taking the weekend off too for the holiday.

I wish my snail mail would go on vacation. It's primary election season. Whole forests have been chopped down for all the glossy campaign literature. Today, I had about 8 items in the mail, maybe more. Every single one was campaign advertising.
