No White Christmas

We should be in the upper 50's, with a slight chance of rain in the evening.....a Far Cry from some years. It appears that the Pacific El Nino is having a major effect on weather this year. I wouldn't bother me a bit if we escape the Winter without our customary 2 or 3 major snowfalls of 10 inches or more.
 
Were expecting green xmas here -- rain today with 7 degrees C. A bit dark and gloomy so lights will go on.
 
We're having rain for Christmas...weather in the 50's. I'm very happy about that. We need every drop.

Hey, Ma'am, always wondered, is it humid and muggy in Thailand, like the U.S. Midwest? Or more like Hawaii or the Philippines, humid, yes, but not quite as suffocating.

Our relative humidity here is typically very low except in summer, so low that the dew point (temperature at which water begins to "plate-out" of the air on tumblers and such), is occasionally BELOW 0 degrees (F)! imp
 
Any hopes of a white Christmas that the weekend chill brought will be dashed in the eastern United States, with this Christmas Eve shaping up to be the warmest on record in many communities."There is a high probability for record-setting warmth up and down the entire Eastern Seaboard from Florida to Maine [on Christmas Eve]," AccuWeather Meteorologist Rob Englund said.

It's not as bad here on the islands but quite humid. Having sea breezes helps a lot. It was much cooler where we lived in Uganda - on the equator - but high elevation and low humidity.
 
I just got back from my morning walk and it's hard to believe for this time of year but it's 59 deg. outside.......must be something to this El Nino weather pattern.
 
We've only had a dusting of snow, so far, and this morning it is almost 60 degrees with rain moving through the area. Starting Christmas night, and extending through early next week, we may get between 3 to 5 inches of rain. If that were snow, we would be buried for days. 2015 is shaping up to be the warmest year on record, and this El Nino is keeping our area well above normal temperatures and rainfall. We still have to get through Jan/Feb, but the long range forecasts on AccuWeather indicate that we may not have to contend with any extended periods of sub freezing temperatures.
 
Al Gore is somewhere shaking his head...almost 60 and raining. I got used to snowless holidays when we lived in Florida, but it's still weird. The drizzle and warmth, it makes the holiday lights look a bit out of place.
