In the past few days, a new "theme park" has opened in Kentucky. It's centerpiece is a Full size replica of the Biblical description of Noah's ark....complete with replicas of hundreds of animals...INCLUDING Raptor Dinosaurs.

At $40 a person for admission, it probably won't take the "entrepreneur", Ken Ham, who dreamed up this idea, more than a decade to join the Forbes 500 of the most wealthy people in the U.S. After all, it seems that there is no shortage of people who flunked History and Science in school....and will probably flock to this park to fulfill their fantasies.

Ken Ham will be endeavouring to capture the minds of people who are still at school.
Everyone who visits this theme park will probably go home with a swag of free literature/pamphlets to distribute to friends and family.

Hmmm....I wonder how they will explain how they fit in one pair each of the 50,000+ species of animals that existed?

Well, here I go again. I tried not to respond.

I believe it is a good thing and gives an alternative to the teachings that prevail as relates to evolution. My view is to teach both - the biblical and the scientific.
Let the students be exposed to both and make up their own minds. There is no contradictions in the biblical and the scientific. (please show me if you can)

Genesis 5:32 says that Noah was 500 years old when God made tis pronouncement. Gen 7:6 says that Noah was 600 years old when the flood of water came upon the earth. This means that Noah built the ark, gathered the animals (with the supernatural help of God) and preached for 100 years) Yet, only those in his family listened. In fact most of those alive resorted to ridicule, scoffing, laughter, etc. So I find it not surprising that there are so many detractors today.

In the New Testament, Jesus said “As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark”. Of course it is no different today. There are today naysayers, scientists and scoffers galore.

The Bible says nothing about the age of the earth. I believe the earth is millions of years old as proven by science, but I think man (depending on how you define man) is a fairly late comer to our earth. I am talking about man as God created him, not the “humanoids” that probably descended from apes, but the ones created in God’s image, who have spirituality, rationality, dignity, and who have an ability to relate to and seek God.

I have not visited the ark in Kentucky, but I plan to, and look forward to it.

I have watched the operation of Answers In Genesis in Australia and have viewed a lot of their material.
As a Christian I am not at all impressed, nor am I impressed as a science teacher.
IMO they would take us back to the time of the Scopes monkey trial.
They have tried to censor school science text books and introduce the very unscientific topic of intelligent design into the science curriculum.

I don't think the "Puny" human mind is capable of understanding how the universe, and life, was created. The various religious texts...Bible, Koran, etc., were written, and rewritten by those who had no concept of what they were talking about...IMO. I firmly believe that there is a "Supreme Being" guiding our lives, but to think that we can understand such a lofty entity is facetious. The Evangelicals, and other religious extremists would seem to be happy to see humanity return to the Dark Ages, or the subjugation of humanity to Sharia Law. Throughout History, religion has been the excuse used by tyrants to instill fear into the populace....and thereby cement their Power over the masses.

I'm sorry, I don't agree with the last 2 posts. First, the Bible has not been rewritten. Please give references or proof. It is easy to understand the Supreme Being. Just look at the Jesus and His life. He said "if you have seen Me, you have seen the Father." Just read the Gospel of John, and you will "know" God.

Evangelicals (I describe myself as one) are not religious extremists, if by extremists you mean groups such as Skin Heads, Neo-Nazis, Klu Klux Klan, etc. I do not, in any way shape of form, have any connection with any of these, and find them disgusting and dispicable, just as I do the ISIS fighters and radical Muslims. Let me offer a definition of an evangelical. They are ones who hold to the beliefs that: 1. The Bible is the highest authority and is the basis for morality. 2. Because of Christ’s mandate to take the Gospel to the world, we engage in personally encouraging or inviting non-Christians to trust Jesus as Savior. 3. Belief and acceptance of the cross of Christ as the only sacrifice that can remove the penalty of sin. 4. Only through trust in Jesus Christ as Savior can one receive the free gift of eternal salvation. Now, this definition may vary from place to place, but is generally sound. There is nothing extreme here.

I do not want to take religion back to the Dark Ages, or the Scopes Monkey Trial. Today we have more advanced technology than ever before to explore space, to investigate phenomenon such as the Shroud of Turin. (please do research on this - it is fascinating, and yes, I believe it was the clothing that Christ wore at his entombment). We know more about Cosmology than ever before. The Big Bang theory can be analyzed more than ever before using Quantum Mechanics. I love the age I live in now.

Anytime you make sweeping statements about "they are cementing their power", these generalities are always wrong. You describe people I have no connection with and don't want to. Please don't lump me in with them.
