Non-Rhyming Poetry

Hello,

My daughter has a BA and a Masters in English Literature and Creative Writing, which she received from the University of California and Bowling Green University.

She is also the published author of four books of Poetry, not one of which I understand.

Her poems don't rhyme, which I feel goes against the whole concept of Poetry! (Please don't tell her how I feel about this!)

Nevertheless, I'm proud of her literary achievements, but I coudn't even offer her a Steak Dinner, because she's also a Vegetarian, along with my 3 grandkids! (What a waste.....)

Ahhh, but she also plays Violin in College and Community Symphony Orchestras, and also plays Fiddle, Mandolin, and Bass in Irish and Celtic folk groups.

My idea of Poetry are works by Jack London, Rudyard Kipling, and Robert Service...real gritty stuff...no "Odes to a Dying Rose" and such!

Here's my daughter Tania, now age 44: (She's also a skilled target shooter, which I'm also proud of!)
Hal

Looks like you have a very talented and lovely daughter Hal, I don't blame you for being proud, good job in raising her! And some of the best poems don't rhyme. :D

Your daughter is lovely Hal. I'd enjoy her poetry, for I too write non rhyming poetry at times. :eek:nthego:
