Not eager to shop for groceries

My daughter doesn't live far from us and she insists that we let her do the shopping. I hate the thought of walking all around the store and the store being out of what I need. Just today my daughter placed an order for delivery and I had to give her a list of what I want. They won't deliver it until the 9th of April,if they have any of the things we requested.

The store I work for is accepting home orders. At this time, no substitutions are permitted. About the only things we do not have on hand are: hand sanitizers, toilet paper, different brands of bacon and some sausages. Other than those few items, we have restocked fairly well. Oh, we are also short on disinfectant wipes like, Clorox and Lysol.

We do have tp first thing in the morning, but 6-7 is Seniors hour and it is usually gone by 7.

I have become friendly with a few customers and if they ask me to hold something for them, I will. I go in at 5:30, so I have about a half hour to grab stuff before the doors open, so if I can help someone, I will. One older lady tried to tip me for holding tp and Thomas’s English Muffins for her, but I declined it. The muffins are on sale for; buy 1 get 2 free. I really like them too, but not enough that I need to get three at a time.

Try calling the store.

What a sweet daughter you have....👍❤️

look at it as an opportunity to get out of the house for an hour, or so. Unless your area is seeing an influx of this virus, smaller local stores should have minimal risk of contamination. Besides, you might find something you can substitute for your regular meals, etc.

Just getting out of the house for an hour can be therapeutic in times like this.

We ordered online from Costco for delivery and it didn't take long at all. We ordered online for a store pickup at Sam's Club also, and in two days we went and picked up the order without having to deal with anyone but the special clerk who was wearing mask and gloves. We've ordered online for restaurants too, no contact delivery or curbside pickup. Actually been pretty easy. I have no desire to walk up and down store aisles right now with this CV-19 going on....too many other options.

Grocery delivery slots are being gobbled up for about a week up here now.

Some Amazon and Whole Foods workers are going on strike for better sick pay and disease preventatives. Same with Insta-Cart, a multi delivery service for food and groceries.

I have a grocery order at Shop Rite I'll pick up on Friday and will immediately place another to pick up the following week. They said the virus will start peaking in CT mid April.
