Not in a Million Years.....

would I, or could I, do this for a living.

Twice a year, the Nepalese Gurung Tribe, go on a hunt for honey high in the foothills of Central Nepal. They risk their lives to harvest honey from the worlds largest honeybee.

This tradition, like many old traditions, is slowly dying off as the world becomes more commercialized.

My brother, when he was a little guy, took his rubber play hammer to a wasp nest. Talk about being stung gosh only knows how many times. Poor kid came through it okay but it took time to heal.

Next thing I know, Grandpa was out there with a long pole with a gas drenched rag burning the hive.

On my father side, all the men were bee keepers. I was fascinated by the process of moving the hives from field to field. But my father wouldn't teach me because I'm a girl. :bee:

I think it a boobs thing that the bee are attracted to.:)
