A father was watching his young daughter playing in the yard and tears started to form in his eyes as he thought about her seeing nature with such a open mind and innocent eyes.
Suddenly she stopped and was just staring intently at the ground so he walked over to see what had captured her attention and saw that she was looking at two spiders mating.
"Daddy what are those two spiders doing ?", she asked her father.
"They're mating honey", replied her father.
"What do you call the spider on top daddy ?", she asked.
"That is a Granddaddy Long Legs", answered her father.
"So the spider on the bottom would be a Grandmommy Long Legs, right daddy ?"
His heart swelled at such a sweet and innocent question and replied, "no honey those are both Granddaddy Long Legs".
At his reply he saw her puzzled look and she seemed to be deep in thought for a moment and then she lifted her little foot and stomped both spiders flat.
"Well", she said, "that may be acceptable in California but we're certainly not going to have any of that crap happening here in Texas".
