Now an Earthquake in California on top of Storm!

My sister lives about an hour north of Las Vegas and I checked in with her yesterday. They’ve had rain, wind and lightening but nothing “earth-shaking” (pun totally intended 😁)

She mentioned the rain has been a blessing given the long-standing drought conditions and I’ll bet the Colorado river that goes through the area near them looks a lot different that when I was there a little over a year ago …

Just so you know, there are liberals who have had it with Newsom. California is a very, very varied state. Sometimes I forget Southern California is still California.
There are those on the conservative side who've had it with him too and who think he's a terrible governor.

Re the OP: California can't catch a break it seems.

It's my home state. I don't see much of a dream here.

When I heard about the Pacific Gas and Electric issue, that was it! Communities destroyed, people dead, surrounding areas suffering with lack of housing and increased prices. The user is paying for it all as rates continue to increase. I think most politicians are crooks but Newsom tries to present himself as for the people, and I don't think he is.

I get notices from PGE in my email regarding my utility usage. It tells me my current monthly bill and how much it's gone up since last year.

I've been so tempted to write them back and tell them it wouldn't be so big if they would stop raising their rates.

I get that but in writing since I still get paper bills. Once a year or so I don't have to pay because I'm a low user. This is a terrible corporation. They are not alone.

However, my summer bill used to be about 80 dollars here. My last was 138. AC on 82-83, upstairs apartment, that doesn't get the afternoon sun. I don't use appliances I can use during non peak hours. No clothes washing etc. Dry all my laundry on the patio. Still goes up and up...

When we are paying $180 and are using 28% less electricity than efficient neighbors, and far less than average consumers, what in heck do they pay? BTW, when we built our house 45 years ago, we paid $2K for double pane windows, extra insulation, etc.

That's funny, you get those notices in the mail too. The one on the right.
I'm GREAT too. 🥳

Between my emails and sent notices, plus the billing statement, it's like overkill.
