Salmonella Outbreak Linked to Bagged Peaches Sickens Dozens....

The Meals and Drug Administration is investigating bagged peaches as a possible supply of a salmonella outbreak that has sickened 68 individuals throughout 9 states, 14 of whom have been hospitalized.

The peaches have been packaged by Wawona Packing Firm and bought in two-pound, clear plastic baggage beginning June 1. Aldi, the retailer the place most of the individuals who have been sickened reported shopping for the peaches, recalled all Wawona-brand bagged peaches on Wednesday.

Aldi advised the Meals and Drug Administration that Wawona was the only real provider of the bagged peaches. The merchandise have been shipped to stores in 16 states, together with Minnesota, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Iowa and Kentucky. The F.D.A. is investigating to find out the supply of contamination and the way broadly the peaches have been distributed.

I never buy any fruits packaged....always loose and ripened....summertime peaches are my fav's.

Our local crop was fantastic this season. We buy local at the orchard. My favorite hybrid are the Sun Haven.
So was the white corn, which is my favorite. I like the Silver Queen.
