NSA Type Spying Coming To Australia Along With A Special Tax/fee

This is the government that says it wants reduce business costs by cutting red tape.
The telcos are not happy about this and claim they won't be able to keep the information on this scale free from hackers.

If you don't have anything to hide ralphy, go ahead and post your social security number, your bank account number, your address and tell everyone when you'll be gone on vacation.

Hmm, you make a good point if hackers are getting in, but I was more concerned about what terrorist connections she might have...

Do you have something to hide?

Me, no. I can live with anything I post on line or talk about on the phone becoming public property. I risk nothing beyond some mild and temporary embarrassment.

The people who are complaining about this government requirement are the telcos who don't want to have to save this much data for extended periods, with the responsibility of keeping the data secure. Our government made much before the last election of their promise to assist businesses by reducing red and green tape. I'm not sure what colour this tape is. Perhaps, given that it is a form of spying, it could be termed invisible tape.
