Old nuclear power plants can become hazardous and always need to be independently monitored.

Tritium is the rarest of the three isotopes of hydrogen. It is radioactive with a half life of 12.32 ± 0.02 years.
It would occur as water (H20) and as such would be absorbed by living organisms in the ocean around Biscayne Bay.
If it's in the water, it is in the food chains too.

I live less than 5 miles (as the crow flies) from Three Mile Island (TMI). (No, it does not always stand for Too Much Information). In March of 1979, the date of the accident, I was still a new hire at United. I asked my boss for few days off because I wanted to be with my family. He was very willing to allow me the time and at the end of our phone conversation, he says, "Good Luck and I hope to see you after the dust settles." I told him "OK, thanks, but I might be the dust."

I was one of those folks protesting nukes from way back...sadly it did little good.

Older facility working harder than ever, that can't be good. Something with the upgrade so it should be fairly easy to figure out.
