OMG....
Police are hunting for a New York taxi driver who dragged an elderly passenger out of his car before before speeding away in a deplorable attack.

The 78-year-old woman had ordered the Access-A-Ride cab to take her to physical therapy, but became concerned when the driver continued past the destination and refused to let her out of the car.

Moments later, the taxi driver screeched to a stop, leapt out of the car to open the passenger door and began dragging his elderly fare by the leg, pulling her out of the cab and onto the concrete.

The taxi driver relieved the lady of her phone, before a 35-year-old bystander intervened and confronted the attacker.

The offender quickly handed over the phone before hopping back in the cab and hitting the gas, striking the good samaritan with the car as he pulled away.

Flatbush Shomrim Safety Patrol posted an image of the attacker and video footage of the incident captured by the intervening bystander on Twitter and called on the public to aid the NYPD in tracking down the criminal.

DISTURBING! This for hire driver viciously robbed an elderly woman earlier on East 35th Street and Flatlands Avenue and while fleeing, hit and injured a pedestrian filming it,' Flatbush Shomrim Safety Patrol (FSSP) tweeted.

'If you recognize him, please call 911 and #Shomrim 718-338-9797. #LetsCatchHim.'

FSSP are a volunteer organization dedicated to aiding the NYPD in their investigations of crime in the Flatbush area of Brooklyn.

Oh, dear! People have been saying that New York City is the "Greatest city in the world." I don't think I want to visit there much less ever live there.

They will find him. The local news had a very clear close-up of his TLC (Taxi & Limousine Commission) license plate.
He is actually an Uber driver. Access-a-ride uses Uber, Lyft & yellow cabs as well as their own vehicles.
Uses yellows almost never. They are far and away the best, most professional drivers. Almost always, it is outer borough car services which are used, particularly an outfit called CTG. They stink! However, my last two trips went very well. Not expecting that again!

Another example of when one or a few of any group does something horrible, people are led to believe everyone in the entire group is the same way... :(
who said that ?... that being said.. Uber drivers do have a terrible reputation even in this country...

it's the same here, if we want the best service we stick with Hackney Cabs or mini cabs..and pay the higher charge

If we want to go cheap, then we take our chances with Uber...

I agree, most New Yorkers I have met are good people, in fact all I can think of. Though it can be hard to get past that accent sometimes...:)

I use Lyft or Uber thinking its safer, you always know who your driver is... Not sure how it would work in NYC.

When I was working, access-a-ride would leave patients stranded. They would just cancel, without notice. It was so sad to have patients cutting treatment times, in a panic, because they did not want to miss access-a-ride.

If the patient was not feeling well after treatment, access-a-ride would just leave after waiting 5 minutes.

It's supposed to be for people with mobility issues and unable to take public transportation easily. Yet it is abusive and uncaring to them.

Hopefully they catch that horrible taxi driver. Sure they will soon though as a clear photo of him.
This would have totally shattered her confidence and trust when needing to use a taxi again. Bless her.
yes and further to that.. not only did he attack a disabled old woman.. he knew she was going to Physiotherapy.. so he physically dragged an already sick woman out onto the ground and then beat her, and stole her phone.. then crashed into the guy who intervened.. he has got to go to Jail for this...

It's the same situation in the UK.. Scotland against England...

and in England.. the wars of the roses in the 15 th century.. means there's still hard feelings between the North of England and the South... ... The south is the most affluent part of England.. The North is more renowned for Blue collar workers.. so some southerners feel Northern folks are beneath them.. and some Northerners think the South are stuck up and unfriendly... All crazy nonsense lol

I'm a Northerner.. ( Scottish ).. living in the South... even after almost 50 years of living here.. people still think I should Go Home... :ROFLMAO:
