NYC subway vagrant choked to death after another rider subdues him

If you want to play 'hero', you don't kill the other guy. When the agitated person became unconscious, the ex-marine should have loosened his grip. The guy was yelling and screaming, threw his jacket down, but wasn't attacking anybody. I have no problem with the ex- Marine getting involved. I suspect his youth and inexperience led to an unintentional death. I don't know what charges he could later face.
