Oasis, would you spend your hard earned cash to watch them?

I'm really getting 'peeved' with all the news coverage that these so called musicians are getting.

I'll probably get some ear bashing for saying this, but, they just talk or shout (not sing, I don't think they can), they twang their guitars and try to look tough.

I wouldn't cross the street to watch them.

I'm so glad I've got a good collection of music and people who can sing along to lovely melodies.

What are your thoughts, do you like what they do, or do you agree with my thoughts?

Nope.. I definitely wouldn't spend any money to go and see them. I like them don't get me wrong.. but I can see and hear more of them on TV or on Youtube than I'd ever hear or see in a concert hall with 2000 screaming fans!

However I do think that fans are going to get stung for thousands to see this reunion Concert

No have to disagree they don't shout & scream.. they do play some great music...

They are not that big a thing in the U.S. I've heard a few of their songs, not bad, but not really outstanding to me. I certainly wouldn't go to a concert to see them.

I would pay decent money to see Lyle Lovett, Lucinda Williams, a few others. Preferably in a mid-sized venue, no stadiums.

Some Might Say

Just another masterpiece by a fantastic band, who along with Radiohead...saved the 90's music scene.

I'd pay $500.00 to see them live...easily.

Nope!

I didn't know of them when they were friendly
with each other, All I know about them, was that
they had split, I can't say that I ever heard their
music either.

Mike.

I do like their music but I got sick of all that went on between the two brothers. So while I do enjoy their music, I don't think I would enjoy seeing them live. I would probably be expecting the brothers to "duke it out" with each other during the concert.

yep , I think everyone's sick of that. TBH they're not the brightest bulbs in the box.. so their spats are always public

I didn't know who they were so I listened to 3 videos linked here. I have to agree with you, @timoc , nothing good going on with them.

There are so many groups out there trying to pass off the same formula of raunchy guitar with nonvocal talent. I don't see the appeal of it.

I wouldn't know one their songs, I wouldn't even know it was them if I heard them on the radio. They have been mentioned of late, some high profile mega-squillions divorce, that's about it. Mind you, I'm so out of touch that when Taylor Swift appeared in the news I had to look that name up. What gender is Taylor? I thought that it was quite a common surname.

Well, there's no accounting for taste. I'm just not that familiar with Oasis. They came along at a time when I was working hard and raising children, and didn't pay much attention to pop music.
No I'm not saying you're wrong..music is extremely subjective but Oasis and Lyle Lovett.. are complete opposite ends of the music spectrum....

It's like comparing the Beatles, with Tiny Tim... :ROFLMAO:

except they've been going longer than most !
Well, consider the target audience. It's the non musical types working at their desks listening to streaming services, on their headphones, that dictate what you'll hear. They wouldn't know on their own what's good and they depend on the streaming service to tell them.

Well I don't agree with that. I know what I like , whether streaming services tell the youth or not... and I'm sure there's many more like me...

I wouldn’t mind seeing Oasis but I’m not going anywhere near a stadium concert. And I’m told the tickets are a bit expensive.
Got a few shows lined up and I have just discovered this rather good band are playing Cardiff in November.
Got to book for them I think.
In the meantime Sally can wait…..😀

The fraudsters had already started yesterday. They were selling the tickets for £2 ,000 each..but the official tickets hadn't gone on sale yet...

Considering that I was 32 when their first album came out then I was part of their target audience and there was no streaming back then (obviously). I did buy CD's at the time instead of albums but I had a full stereo setup at the time. And no one told me to like them, I made the choice on my own ;)
