Obscure Actors that we rememeber from our childhood

Sammee Tong - had roles in films and character parts in many TV shows. Had a regular roll in the late 1950s sit-com "Bachelor Father" playing Bently Gregg's butler and the early 1960's series "Mickey". Committed suicide in 1964 over financial problems.

Sid Melton. Had mainly bit parts in movies and guest roles on numerous TV shows. Perhaps best remembered for playing Ichabod Mudd, sidekick to Captain Midnight, in the 1950s sci-fi TV series. Also as Charley Halper on "The Danny Thomas Show" and Alf Monroe, the inept handyman, on "Green Acres".

Irene Tedrow. Had a 60-year career as a character actress on stage, radio, TV and movies.

Guy Madison worked in radio, TV and films. Best known for playing Wild Bill Hickok in the TV series "The Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok", which ran from 1951-1958. His pal on the show was Andy Devine.

Hugh Reilly. He didn't have much in the way of acting credits, but likely best remembered for playing Paul Martin, Timmy's father, on "Lassie". He always kinda reminded be of Hugh Beaumont - such is the way with Hughs.

Unless I'm mistaken, she was in The Pajama Game and sang "I'll Never Be Jealous Again" with Eddie Foy Jr.

Wickes was a great character actress, and a close friend of Lucille Ball's.

The only one I know in the OP is Arnold Stang.

Met him once at the Rusty Scupper in Providence. I think he was in town doing The Odd Couple. We were attending a charity cocktail party related to my husband's job.

Hope Emerson (1897-1960)

Very large for a woman (6'2", 230 lbs.), Emerson had roles in many '40s and '50s films, but she became relatively famous for playing the sadistic prison matron in Caged (1950), which pretty much set the template for ensuing women's prison films.

My personal favorite was her role as "Mother", the proprietress of Mothers, the jazz club featured prominently in the Peter Gunn TV series (1958-1961), although she left after the first season.

Good one. Henry Jones was an oddball character-- seemingly always a little strange, but amusing and whimsical. I probably first noticed him from playing many characters in the Alfred Hitchcock Presents TV series.
