That was in my younger days, lol.Love that!
I've never heard of these! The image is somehow familiar tho' I must have seen pictures. When my kid was in high school, I made a plague doctors costume for her. Since they couldn't have a full face mask, it was only the beak from her nose down to the chin. We used face paint from the nose up.
A few years later she made a full mask out of leather, dyed it white & put in red lenses for the eyes so it looked like the traditional ones you see in historic pictures. I couldn't find the picture of hers, but it looks a lot like this. When she hasn't worn it at Halloween, I'll wear it handing out candy.
Some kids would walk up saying "That's not real" & then I'd move when they get close to get the candy.

Stunning photo! I love those red trees. I love seeing the trees when the leaves start turning. I also love that all things pumpkin become available. Pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin pie, etc.
For a few years when my kids were youngsters, we had this big above-ground pool. We had swim parties on Thanksgiving Day, that's how long summers can be in Cali. And their friends came to them!I get fall fever just as strongly as spring fever. It doesn't get sweater weather here much until maybe late November but I still feel it. We have days here and there to tease us!The mountains of NC is where you can find fall earlier.
