Odd Sign In Puzzle on Amazon

Several days ago I went to sign in on Amazon, I use them very often now. After putting in my email and password, it said for security reasons to do this picture puzzle. It asked to pick out the three images with suitcases.

I was annoyed to have to do this at all, but I attempted and with my poor vision I got it wrong. It then said if assistance is needed, get code from Amazon assistant. Checked my email, no code was sent. I just got out of the page and logged in again later using a link in a recent purchase from them.

Kept thinking about this, did a couple of scans on my computer and no problems noted. Has anyone else ever had to do a captcha type picture puzzle on Amazon log ins?

Curious if this was some type of scam. Thanks.

I upgraded my operating system last week, afterwards I did get a captcha puzzle when signing back into Amazon. Had to do a couple of them to get access.

I did a quick search and it said Amazon was using it when it was a suspicious log in.

Has it been a while since you've been on? I had a 2FA with one account and it locked me out.

Yes, and I hate those stupid things! I think it's especially ridiculous when I've already did two factor identification via text. Amazon is not the only website that uses that method. I think one time, I closed the browser, turned off my VPN and the method wasn't used after that. Can't remember the site though.

No, I'm ordering something several times a week for years now, more than ever since I can no longer drive. What is a 2FA?

Thanks for the info, I've had to use it in the past for bank accounts, never a problem but now the pictures look dark and too small for me to pick out what they want.

Using a VPN would probably trigger higher security authorizations, wouldn't you think?
Yes, because I guess somehow sites know where you usually login from and a different IP address/location sends up red flags. Sometimes I cannot access SeniorForums with my VPN on and sometimes I can.

I also want to comment on the fact that my internet provider shows me at different locations based on the server it's on at any given time which triggers the we don't recognize this location thing. That there's no controlling.
